  1. LBP Overview

Mechanics of LBP

Key Components of LBPs:

  1. Token Weighting

On Nexus, LBPs utilize dynamic token-to-reserve currency weighting. This begins heavily in favor of the project token and transitions towards the reserve currency (like a stablecoin) over time. This weight shift is designed to manage price sensitivity efficiently, ensuring a controlled descent of the token price.

  1. Automated Price Adjustment

Similar to a Dutch Auction, prices in Nexus LBPs start high and decrease over the pool's set duration. However, unlike a traditional Dutch Auction, Nexus's LBP allows for price adjustments upward in response to buying pressure, offering a more fluid and market-responsive pricing mechanism.

Dutch Auction Comparison

While traditional Dutch Auctions end the sale as soon as the first buyer agrees to the current price, Nexus’s LBPs allow for continuous interaction. This not only helps in finding a true market price through gradual price reduction and potential upward trends caused by demand but also provides more robust data on market sentiment throughout the auction period.
